Sheldon Zhang is Professor of Sociology at the San Diego State University.  He received his Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.  Zhang is a noted researcher in the fields of transnational Chinese organized crime and community based corrections.  He has led and participated in numerous large scale domestic and transnational studies.  His work has appeared in such scholarly journals as Criminology, British Journal of Criminology, Criminology and Public Policy, Research in Crime and Delinquency, and Crime & Delinquency. He is the author of Chinese Human Smuggling Organizations—Entrepreneurs of a Precarious Market (forthcoming by Stanford University Press), All Roads Lead to America—Smuggling and Trafficking in Human Beings (forthcoming by Greenwood). He also co-authored (with Robert Winslow) a text: Criminology—A Global Perspective (Prentice Hall).
